Our Worldand SkyClass 1

In this interdisciplinary project, students explore the question of what the Earth and the sky are and how they are changing in today's world. Through inquiry, research, and investigation, they examine key concepts, ask meaningful questions, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Students then reflect on their discoveries and learn to form informed perspectives and connections.

Driving question: How can we, as Young Explorers, investigate Earth's changes and report our discoveries to the world?

Young learners, endless discoveries

Eight subjects, orbiting one question.

Our World and Sky stays simple in concept and rich in practice: children observe, ask, test, record and report what they discover.

Young Explorers

World & Sky

Every subject returns to the same question: what is changing around us, and how can we explain it?

"Young learners, endless discoveries."

Climate Action

Climate Action calls for urgent action to combat climate change and address its far-reaching impacts on people and the planet. Before students can explore solutions, they must first develop a deep understanding of the environment they live in.

Pillar 01
Mitigation

Investigating Change

Students investigate how the Earth has changed over time, explore the causes and effects of climate change.

Pillar 02
Adaptation

Building Resilience

Students develop an understanding of resilience by exploring how individuals, communities, and nations can adapt to the changing climate.

Pillar 03
Climate Finance and Support

Collective Action

Students learn that addressing climate change requires collective action at both the global and local levels. They explore that it takes a collective effort to support climate solutions.

The Project Journey

Four milestones, from first wonder to shared discovery.

Follow the line as young explorers observe the world, gather evidence, make meaning and report what they find.

Milestone 01Wonder

Entry Into Our World and Sky

Students begin with close observation, asking what the Earth and sky are and what changes they can notice around them.

Milestone 02Inquiry

Investigating Earth's Changes

Young explorers gather evidence through research, questions, photographs, simple charts and teacher-guided experiments.

Milestone 03Meaning

Connecting Discoveries

Children connect their findings to weather, climate action, community life and their own responsibility toward the planet.

Milestone 04Voice

Reporting to the World

Students share what they discovered through journals, presentations, artwork and simple reports.

Observe, explore, and investigate the world with Class 1.
